11th Lublin Jazz Festival – check out the programme
The following musicians will perform during 11th edition of the Festival: Enrico Rava, Portico Quartet, Mammal Hands, Gnigler Sextett and Polish musician such as Jan Małkowski, Jerzy Mączyński, Irek Wojtczak or Wojciech Jachna.
Polish musicians will present premiere artistic projects which celebrate the greatest achievements of the heritage of Polish musical culture. Adam Bałdych in the new programme Sacrum-Profanum attempts to put the sacred music of different eras into a contemporary context. Marcin and Bartłomiej Oleś in their special project “Azymuth for K.” will reinterpret the album “Music for K.” by Tomasz Stańko, which was dedicated to Krzysztof Komeda.
Join us during the series of free concerts “Jazz in the city”, which will take place in interesting spaces around Lublin. During these meetings, we will hear Skerebotte Fatta, Zbigniew Chojnacki and the TRIO-io group. Together with the Municipal Public Library we we would like to invite to a meeting with Magdalena Grzebałkowska who will talk about her book, “Komeda. Personal life of jazz.”. Also in the programme, a film directed by Natasza Ziółkowska-Kurczuk e- “Komeda, Komeda”, dedicated to this outstanding jazz music maker as well as a photo exhibition by Maciek Nowak “Looking at Jazz”. This year’s edition of the festival will take place between 23rd and 28th of April.
