Guitarist by vocation, drummer by choice, sometimes playing the keyboard. Inherently associated with blues (Dżem, Krzak, SBB), but also with jazz and rock – fusion music. From 1971, he is the member of SBB, one of the leading Polish rock groups. In the early 1970s, he regularly performed with Czesław Niemen, an icon of the Polish avant-garde music. In the 80s he collaborated with Tomasz Stańko, playing drums – both on stage and in the studio (albums: “C.O.C.X.”, “Lady Go”, “Chameleon”).

During his years in Greece, Anthimos traveled the world as the drummer of the band George Dalaras. In 1994 he released his debut solo album “Days We Can not Forget” (among the invited musicians: Gil Goldstein, Matthew Garrison, Paul Wertico, Jim Beard and Sugar Blue). At that time, he also played with Pat Metheny. Used to be the leader of the group Theatro, and for over a decade, he also performs with his own trio – on the Polish and international scene, where he is assisted by Gary Husband and Etienne Mbappe (the band’s musicians for John McLaughlin). Apostolis regularly records and gives concerts all over the world – be it with SBB or solo projects.
In February 2018, a completely new album entitled “Parallel Worlds” was released on which Apostolis, after many years, plays 100% on drums again, but on which his guitar can be heard at its best.

“Apostolis Anthimos Miniatures” is a new project in which the blues sound of the Apostolis’ guitar is intertwined with the rock-jazz atmosphere of his drums. This extraordinary quartet presents excellent music: moody and refined, but with pulsing groove and energy. For connoisseurs and novices.
