Kiss the boy / Conviction about the rotting of our own organs and the breakdown of the body

18:00 – 2018-06-22 – Biała Gallery – free admission

Wiola Głowacka “Kiss the boy”
The artist known so far from drawings and figurative painting, in which she portrays women and men (sometimes also herself) in unobvious situations and existential dilemmas.
The models adopt studied poses and appear alienated, tragic, aesthetically exaggerated . In the Biała Gallery Głowacka will present a completely new artistic project in which she will transform one of the rooms into a bedroom, in the style of decorative exaggeration and superficial glitz. This aesthetics comes from dreams attributed to middle-aged women and are an opposition to ordinary life and banality. The exhibition will be complemented by new paintings and a film dedicated to the exhibition.

Jakub Gliński “Conviction about the rotting of our own organs and the breakdown of the body”
A painter, audiovisual artist, experimental musician and performer. His paintings are in opposition to academic painting. He focuses on the very process of creation, which is based on an intuitive or even subconscious action and expressive gesture. His objects represent the aesthetics of “trash and error”. He uses found objects of everyday use and waste of unknown origin and destination. He treats his performative actions as paratheatrical performances, during which he releases the hidden layers of emotion of extremely strong expression. He is also the creator of experimental music recognized on the Polish and foreign stage.
At the exhibition, he will present large-format painting and an installation based on a ready-mades, covering the staircase leading from the Patio to the Lower Hall.
