The Central Theatre, a new theatre unit at the Centre for Culture in Lublin, has been launched on June 21st. It’s activities were inaugurated with the premiere of the performance “Heart” from the “Theatre Decalogue” series.
The Central Theater is an initiative of six theatres operating at the Centre for Culture, which, after 10 years of activity on independent paths, are joining forces as a collective.
The theatre include:
• InVitro Stage,
• neTTheatre,
• Provisorium Theatre,
• Drama Reading Room Theatre,
• Senior Theatre,
• Comedy Stage.
The new undertaking creates a space for the meeting of the tradition of author’s theatres, rebellious new dramaturgy, and a bold political statement. Growing from the heritage of physical, artistic and documentary theatre, the creators focus on collective work in search of new forms of artistic existence, in constant openness to discourse and new creative people.
The Central Theatre will present a wide theatrical offer, with a specific repertoire and form, constituting an alternative to the existing theatres in Lublin. Its essence is diversity and the presence of several theaters with different artistic origins and interests. The repertoire of the Central Theater includes performances created so far by the theaters associated with it as part of their activities at the Centre for Culture, such as “Margules. Absence” by InVitro Scene, by “FUTUROLOGICAL CONGRESS” by Drama Reading Room Theatre, “Rite of Passage”, by neTTheatre, “Room number 6” by Provisorium Theatre, “Boys – a drama from the life of the elderly”, by the Senior Theatre or “Scenes for the National Health Fund – Znachor” by the Comedy Stage and performances from the “Theatre Decalogue” series.
