It's official: Lublin is the European Capital of Culture 2029! Today at the Centre for Culture in Lublin, where the competition team is based, a press conference attended by the city’s mayor, Krzysztof Żuk, was held.
Lublin is the European Capital of Culture 2029!
Rafał Koziński – plenipotentiary of the Mayor of Lublin for the ESK 2029 programme, and the Manager of the Centre for Culture in Lublin – emphasized that the success would not have been possible without the joint, long-term work and commitment of many people, institutions, and communities of the city. The idea of Re:Union was happening in front of our own eyes during the entire process, Koziński added.
The results of the competition for the European Capital of Culture 2029 were announced on 25 September at 3:00 p.m. The decision was announced by the chairwoman of the team of experts Suvi Innilä during a press conference at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. We are starting the next stage of this great adventure. Great joy came at great effort, but we can’t wait for what lies ahead.
Congratulations Lublin!
