"20 Days in Mariupol" is a shocking film that indicts Russia: a record of the destruction of the city, made by the only correspondent who risked his own life by staying there until the end.
The film, shot with impressive formal discipline, keeps the viewer in tight grip from its first minutes to the end. Few creators show the merciless cruelty of war with such power. However, Chernov and his team do not intend to shock. Their intention is to leave a testimony – and shake the conscience of the world.
