“Bioland” explores humanity’s impact on our planet, weaving together themes of captivity/imprisonment, industrialization, and technological advancement that are transforming ecosystems and impacting the functioning of living organisms worldwide.
The audience is invited to consider their position in the simulation unfolding before them. The performance questions the apparent boundary between observer and participant. Blurring the lines between spectacle, experiment, exhibition, and catwalk, it challenges anthropocentric assumptions through a fantastical and sometimes surreal lens. “Bioland” invites us to consider the interplay between human evolution and the fragile balance of life for all beings on the planet.
