The group combines contemporary music with local traditional music, high culture with street culture, and musicians, singers and composers from different regions, crossing their cultures and languages, both in musical and linguistic terms.

Rebel Babel Ensemble already has over 11,000 musicians, an international, unlimited big band that performs all over the world, inviting artists from local orchestras and big bands. Meetings and workshops are a form of preparing great concerts at the largest festivals, as well as crazy performances combining live music with the sounds of nature or technology. The idea is to build dialogue and understanding through music, as well as fulfil the dreams of young musicians by creating educational and stage meetings with professionals and stars of great format.

The originator of Rebel Babel is Łukasz L.U.C. Rostkowski – Polish composer, music producer, vocalist and co-founder of the Rebel Babel Ensemble; two-time winner of the Fryderyks (2006, 2008) and Yach, Polish Radio Programme 3 award Mateusz, Polityka’s Passport, Slizher and Dolnośląskie Brylants.

The voice of the Lublin edition of Rebel Babel Ensemble Live will be BISZ – rapper, poet, culture expert, author of texts and radio plays. From the beginning of his work, he is appreciated for well-thought-out texts, selection of topics, playing with words and combining various musical genres. Winner of the Album of the Decade award for the album “Wilk chodnikowy”, nominated for Fryderyk for the album “Wilczy humor”.

Lublin Street Band

Rebel Babel will share the stage with the Lublin Street Band – an orchestra infecting with a positive dose of jazz-funk energy. Jazz, funk, soul, crazy improvisations, original compositions and completely new arrangements of numbers known from gangster films in a professional performance are the band’s strongest points. The power of wind instruments will captivate everyone!
