David Tixier is a French pianist born in Switzerland. He worked and played with great jazz musicians such as Bob Mintzer, Eric Watson, Giovanni Mirabassi and Frank Amsalem. He continued his studies in Lausanne under the tutelage of piano professor Emil Spanyi. There he worked and played with New York Voices, Chico Freeman, George Robert, Julian Arguelles, François Lindemann, Sangoma Everett or Patrick Perrier. The American guitarist Mike Moreno will perform with the band.

David Tixier was the co-founder and keyboardist of the Less Than Four trio in the years 2013-2016 with whom he won the first prize of the jury and the first public prize at the Jazz In Oloron competition in France. From 2014, he also runs “Humain Trop Humain Collective”. He was one of five finalists of the Boris Vian Piano Competition in Paris (2012), and finalist of the Europafest Jazz Competition in Bucharest (2013). In 2015, David was a semi-finalist of the Montreux Piano Competition and a semi-finalist of the UBS Public Prize, organized by the Montreux Jazz Festival. In the same year he won the second prize in the competition Monaco Jazz Soloists 2015. In the project David Tixier Trio also won many awards and honours in Central Europe, playing, among others in Switzerland, France, Germany, Austria, Spain, Romania, Turkey and Japan.
