Professor of medicine, inspired by war films and soldiers’ tales, joins the army to bring help on the battlefield. The Wrocław ambulance doctor and a novice Ukrainian anesthesiologist also set out on the mission.

Southeast Afghanistan. Twelfth year of the international stabilization mission under the aegis of the NATO International Security Assistance Force. The professor of medicine begins to run the first video blog in his life. In a very personal and emotional way, he talks about the war in Afghanistan as seen through the eyes of doctors.

The Polish-Ukrainian team of medics spent several months in Afghanistan. Their goal was to help the soldiers, but the doctors quickly learned that they were needed, not only in the army. Mission brings them to a world that they could not even imagine before. A frightening level of hygiene, lack of proper medical care, shortage of personnel, medicines and equipment – this is the reality around the military base. Soon after arrival, it turns out that 90 percent of patients in Poland and Ukraine are Afghans.
