Dance workshops conducted in the GaGa movement language.
GaGa is a movement language developed for many years by Ohad Naharin and used in the daily training and dance practice by the Batsheva Dance Company. The GaGa language is based on the belief that the movement has a healing, dynamic, constantly changing power. GaGa is a new way of acquiring knowledge and self-awareness by the body.
Gaga / dancers are open to professional dancers and students of dance schools in intermediate level starting from the age of 16.
Classes take 75 minutes and are taught by dancers who collaborated with Ohad Naharin. Gaga / dancers classes are built according to the same principles as the variant Gaga / people, with an additional consideration of the special vocabulary and skills, which are part of every dancer’s knowledge. Classes are built in layers taking into account familiar movements with tasks characteristic of Gaga, which as a result gives the participants fresh challenges. During the classes, the instructor encourages dancers to discover those spheres that are still poorly known to them.
Gaga / dancers deepens the awareness of the physical feelings of the dancers, widens the palette
of motor options available to them, increases their ability to manipulate energy by taking into account its wilder layers and enhancing the movement quality with a wider range of possibilities.
Conducted by: Adi Weinberg-Prejna – a graduate of Haifa Program for Professional Dancers, she completed an internship at the Vertigo Dance Company. As a contemporary dancer, she performed at many festivals around the world. She collaborated with the Fresco Dance Company, the Israel Opera and many choreographers such as Andrea Costanzo Martini, Nadar Rosano and Efrat Rubin. She is a certified GaGa teacher and Shiatsu therapist, Ayurveda massage therapist and Pilates trainer.
