The second title is the European animation of last year, a Spanish-French co-production directed by Pablo Berger, who makes his debut in an animated film. The characters of the cinematic adaptation of Sara Varon’s comic book “Robot Dreams” take us on a journey around New York and discover the meanders of friendship. The recommended age group for younger viewers is 10 years old. The third film is dedicated to viewers from 15 years of age, is “Hundreds of Beavers” directed by Mike Cheslik, an American slapstick comedy from 2022 with a gaming atmosphere. The crazy adventures of a cider producer, who is hindered by cunning animals both in business and matrimonial affairs. The series will end with an animated tribute to Jacques Tati – a master of comedy, cultivator of the tradition of silent cinema in France, creator of the character of Mr. Hulot – a tall man in a hat, a pipe and an umbrella, who causes a series of mistakes whenever he finds himself in a modern, unfamiliar environment. “The Illusionist” (2010), directed by Sylvain Chomet (author of the excellent “Belleville Trio”), was written in cooperation with Tati himself. We invite viewers from the age of 12 to watch the screening of an animation about the French illusionist. See you on Thursdays in June at the CK Cinema!
The project is co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.
“Cinema, not popcorn” is a motto of the Centre for Culture’s Cinema. We focus on screenings without crunchy snacks and advertising blocks, and we also ask our viewers not to use their mobile phones during the screening. The showtimes in our cinema are equivalent to the start of the film screening.
