By 1980, the band had recorded a total of 10 albums, the most famous of which was “Blues”.
At that time, the group was increasingly criticized by the media for pro-Western music and long hair. Eventually, this led to a complete ban on radio and television broadcasting. However, in March, the group managed to record the album “70a”. A year later, the band released one of their best albums – “Blues” which was recorded by: Tadeusz Nalepa (vocals, guitar), Dariusz Kozakiewicz (guitar), Tadeusz Trzciński (harmonica), Jerzy Goleniewski (bass guitar), Józef Hajdasz (drums). In 1972 the band recorded another album “Karate”. After recording the album, vocalist Jan Izbiński joined the band for a short time. In 1973, Włodzimierz Nahorny leaves the band, and the musicians record Mira Kubasińska’s solo album “Ogień”. In the years 1973–1975 the ensemble went to concerts in the USSR, East Germany and the Netherlands.
Breakout cast away the stereotype of the contemporary style of guitar music and was a link between big-bit and rock & roll of the sixties and later rock and blues-rock music. It was Breakout who first flirted with jazz, inviting Włodzimierz Nahorny to record albums. Many outstanding musicians, including Dariusz Kozakiewicz and Józef Skrzek, have passed through the line-up. The band officially existed until 1982, when Tadeusz Nalepa began his solo career. In 2022, we celebrate the 15th anniversary of the artist’s death.
