Profile of the Polish-American artist Witold Kaczanowski. His father was a director of the Psychiatric Hospital in Tworki near Warsaw, where the artist spent his childhood under German occupation. In 1964, he smuggled manuscripts of dissident writers from Poland and the Soviet Union to West Germany. Because of this for many years he could not return to Poland. In 1967, Pablo Picasso painted his portrait.
