Dr. Alithea Binnie is a down-to-earth person. Part of her satisfaction with life comes from the fact that she has long since given up pursuing fantasies in search of happiness. There are no excessive demands on the world, which is approached with a large dose of scepticism. In his life, he is guided by common sense, instead of succumbing to gusts of feelings. Despite this, or perhaps because of that, one day a real genie appears in her life, who in exchange for his freedom, offers her the fulfilment of three wishes. The problem is that Alithea is a professional analysing ancient legends and fairy tales, and she is fully aware that such games can end very badly. The genie, however, does not give up. To encourage her to make her wish, he tells her unheard-of stories from his past. Eventually, Alithea makes a wish that will surprise both the genie and herself.
