The film’s director and screenwriter, Michael Shanks, decided to address the recently fashionable genre of body horror, but opted for a more romantic version of it. “A Real Pain” by Jesse Eisenberg, colloquially known as the “Lublin Oscar,” tells, among other things, about the multi-generational experience of historical trauma, while also showcasing the beauty of our city.
