Diego and Elena want to start a new life in the United States. They have taken care of all the formalities, but they are detained at the New York airport. The interrogation conducted by the migration services calls into question the reasons why they want to live in the US, and their relationship. How much do they really know about themselves? How many secrets can their relationship endure? This film, set in a claustrophobic atmosphere, in which every twitch of the eyelid and every drop of sweat counts, is reminiscent of other minimalist and flawlessly directed productions, such as "The Guilty Ones" and "Locke". However, in the background of an intimate story about a relationship whose fate hangs before our eyes, "To the Borders" also discusses invisible privilege, bad origins and people who are afraid of flying, although it is not the height that makes them panic.
