The reason was a decrease in the wages of childminders and an attempt to privatize Poznań’s care institutions. In response to the actions of the municipal office, childminders joined the trade union, threatened to strike, won wage increases, improved working conditions and eventually blocked the privatization of nurseries. The demands of the guardians were not limited to employee issues only. Through the conflict in the workplace, they began to demand a change in the city’s social and budgetary policy, opposing the marginalization of those spheres to which women are assigned, among others care, social assistance, education, culture. They also began to talk loudly about the fact that their shoulders are usually responsible for maintaining their family, and that is why they will continue to fight for public health care and the possibility of termination of pregnancy.
