The mad general arbitrarily orders a nuclear attack on the USSR. Soviet retaliation seems inevitable.
US Army Commander Jack D. Ripper (Sterling Hayden) and Air Force Commander Turgidson (George C. Scott) command a squadron of nuclear bombers to attack the USSR. This launches a secret Soviet lethal weapon. British captain Lionel Mandrake is trying to prevent the catastrophe. On the other hand, the US president (Peter Sellers) is clumsily trying to convince the Soviet prime minister that the whole situation is just a stupid mistake. The role of his adviser is played by a crazy former Nazi.
The screening will be followed by a discussion.
