Wojciech Gilewicz creates painting, photography, and is the author of installations and videos. The exhibition deals with topics related to ecology, recycling and exchange, and its binding theme is the issue of “garbage”, that is, everything that we think is redundant and unnecessary and that we get rid of from our homes and lives. The exhibition includes, among others, videos made in the United States, a collection of over 1800 photographs from the city of Kaohsiung in Taiwan, a series of oil paintings “Pictures 2002-“, as well as new works created especially for the exhibition at the Biała Gallery, with which the artist has been cooperating since 2000. In the gallery’s corridor, walls and vault are decorated with a monumental permanent drawing by Mariusz Tarkawian, which the artist regularly adds to with new items from subsequent exhibitions.
