Show is a way of life, regardless of age. The film’s main character is about to find this out.
The eccentric widow, Mrs. Henderson (Judi Dench), the owner of a vaudeville in London’s Soho, puts to the test stiff customs steeped in pudding and five o’clock tea. With the help of a skilful impresario (Bob Hoskins), she turns the city’s nightlife upside down. The show she puts on, staged on the limits of British law, full of spicy entertainment with naked models, is on one hand a mockery of political correctness, and on the other – a successful attack on the erotic monopoly of the Moulin Rouge. In Mrs. Henderson’s theatre, everyone will find what they like best. Chicago and Moulin Rouge rolled into one!
