Series: Film brothers
In March Benshi discussion club offers a rich film cycle devoted to film siblings. The audience will watch how the family energy affects the creators, and seek to answer the question whether "family is strength" or whether family pictures are safer than family business. We will have the first look at Dardenne brothers film, a Belgian duo, which has been considered to be Cannes’ favourite for years. “Lorna’s Silence” will introduce the audience to the areas of psychological drama, followed by a discussion in which the viewers will try to answer a number of extremely difficult questions. Next screening in the series is “Gone Baby Gone”, a screen cooperation by the Affleck brothers (Ben is responsible for directing, Casey appears in one of the main roles). A crime story with elements of a psychological thriller is an adaptation of Dennis Lehane's book. The third films is, in turn, a nod to the classics – “Cocoanuts” in which th Marx brothers made their film debut. "Caesar must die" by Paolo and Vittorio Tavianich brothers will transport the audience to the Italian prison, in which the definition of the mafia will take on a new, Shakespearean meaning. Cherry on the cake will be "Raising Arizona" – a classic interpreted by the Coen brothers. Something tells us that fans of Nicolas Cage will be quite pleased. See you at the screening!
