The music presented by the quartet was composed for the play "FUTUROLOGICAL
CONGRESS" directed by Daniel Adamczyk, an adaptation of the novel by Stanisław Lem.
Thanks to the invitation to work together by Daniel Adamczyk, Lem’s novel became the leitmotif and inspiration for composing music in which the classics are combined with contemporary forms. The music from the play won a special award in the “Living Classics” competition organized by the Zbigniew Raszewski Theatre Institute in Warsaw. This inspired the artists to go a step further and create a complete, autonomous musical material. The quartet’s compositions contain references to minimalism, illustrative music, sonorism, and romanticism understood as a journey through the artists’ inner subjective world of feelings. Some pieces also refer to early European music and Polish traditional music, but without a clear dance element. The band consists of a string trio, analogue synthesizers, electronics and a trumpet. The musicians perform instrumental and vocal-instrumental pieces. During the concert, the musicians will present most of the pieces that were composed for the show, along with new compositions.
The production of the album was possible thanks to the financial support of the Zbigniew Raszewski Theatre Institute in Warsaw and the Zakłady Kórnickie Foundation. The recordings were recorded at the S4 Studio of the Polish Radio in Warsaw. Album release: Independent Music Foundation
