Marzanna Morozewicz – Paintings 2.0.
The title of Marzanna Morozewicz’s exhibition refers to her first solo exhibition entitled “Paintings”, which took place at the Arsenał Gallery in Białystok exactly 30 years ago. At that time, she presented oil paintings on canvas. Several of them will be presented at the Galeria Biała, together with new photographic works and embroideries. Her original embroidery method is a visual record of a contemplative action and builds the structure of the image by adopting a modernist form, so unusual for its traditional essence. The artist bases her work on the understanding of femininity as an internal experience. The central category of this experience is emotions, the intimate internal world, as well as the external world perceived sensually. Marzanna Morozewicz’s art has been presented many times at the Biała Gallery in individual and collective presentations. The artist lives in Białystok. She works as a professor at the University of Białystok, where she heads the Department of Artistic Education at the Faculty of Educational Sciences.

Urszula Pieregończuk – Story Time
The exhibition presents the artist’s latest works – silicone humanoid sculptures made from human skin prints, on which fragments of photographs, advertisements, newspaper headlines, logos, products, characters from fairy tales and fables have been tattooed. Each tattoo, separately or corresponding to the neighboring one, evokes specific associations in the recipient, the sum of which creates a set of messages reflecting the accumulation and quality of contemporary stories created in the era of developed mass media.
The exhibition presents works that were created as part of studies at the Doctoral School of Humanities and Art of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin. Urszula Pieregończuk is also the author of films, and also works with painting and installation.
