A brass band concert featuring two ensembles: Eskapada Orchestra, conducted by Marcin “Kabat” Kowalczuk, and the Lublin Brass Band Association, conducted by Jarosław Mielko. Some musicians play in both groups.
The concerts presents two distinct types of sound. Eskapada Orchestra performs a folk and dance repertoire, while Lublin Brass Band Association focuses on contemporary arrangements of popular pieces. The two ensembles will come together to perform two pieces together – one from each orchestra’s repertoire.
Eskapada Orchestra and Lublin Brass Band Association were founded at the same time, in 2025 and are currently the only amateur orchestras operating in Lublin.
Lublin Brass Band Association
An initiative brings together young brass band musicians from across the region, who are active in their local ensembles and come to Lublin for studies or to attend secondary and higher education institutions. The Association was founded with the aim of creating a place where young people can continue to develop their musical passion, socialize, and perform together, even outside their hometowns. The ensemble’s repertoire includes classical marching and patriotic pieces, as well as film and popular music, and modern concert arrangements.
The orchestra operates at the LSM Cultural Center in Lublin which supports the ensemble’s artistic activities and provides a space for regular rehearsals, concerts, and networking for young musicians.
Eskapada Orchestra
This brass band formed in June 2025 at the Centre for Culture in Lublin as part of the National Center for Culture’s “Eskapada – Brass Journeys in Time and Space” project. The ensemble comprises brass and woodwind instruments, including tubas, trombones, saxophones (tenor and alto), trumpets, saxophones (alto, tenor, and baritone), clarinets, flutes, and oboe, with a drum and cymbal section serving as the rhythm section. The orchestra’s repertoire draws from the rich tradition of brass bands from the Lubelskie Roztocze region. The program includes polkas, oberkas, tangos, waltzes, and foxtrots.
