A concert by Bartosz Smorągiewicz. The artist will take the audience on a musical journey through jazz, Jewish music, and Sephardic and Oriental sounds. Improvisation, emotion, and free crossing of genre boundaries – a musical space where tradition meets modernity.
The evening’s special guest is Milo Kurtis – an outstanding multi-instrumentalist, composer, and one of the pioneers of world music in Poland. The concert is also an opportunity to celebrate his 75th birthday. His distinctive, ethnic expression and years of stage experience bring an additional layer of sound and improvisation to Smorągiewicz’s music.
The evening promises to be a meeting full of trance-like rhythms, lyrical melodies, and lively improvisation – a musical celebration in which sound becomes a space for dialogue between cultures.
Bartosz Smorągiewicz – saxophonist, composer, and arranger, graduate of the Hochschule für Musik in Würzburg. A laureate of international composition competitions, he creates jazz, film, and theater music, and collaborates with artists from around the world. Since 2023, he has led the Jazz Orchestra of the Warmia-Masuria Philharmonic.
Milo Kurtis – multi-instrumentalist, composer, and co-founder of the legendary group Osjan, has long been associated with ethnic and improvised music. His work draws on the traditions of the Middle East, the Balkans, and jazz, making him a key figure in the Polish world music scene.
