Klezmer Night Fever – Final Concert Featuring Klezmer Stars + Dance Party
Klezmer Night Fever – Final Concert Featuring Klezmer Stars + Dance Party
The final concert of this year’s Lubliner Festival is a project by legendary klezmer master Frank London.
Based on the album “Chronika,” the concert is an energetic musical spectacle where tradition meets modernity. Sounds rooted in Jewish culture intertwine with electronics, acid, and psychedelia, creating a vibrant celebration of music, dance, and shared experiences.
The program, inspired by the album “Chronika,” combines klezmer and Yiddish music with modern electronic sounds, presenting one of the most daring and original interpretations of contemporary klezmer music. This is an event that is as engaging to listen to as it is to dance to.
The album “Chronika” was created in 2008, during the heyday of New York’s Balkan-inspired club scene. Recorded by Frank London and Bulgarian DJ Joro-Boro, featuring Klezmer Brass Allstars and guest musicians, it remained unreleased for years. It was only released in 2023 by Borscht Beat, becoming a symbol of the meeting of tradition and modern club sound.
Frank London is an outstanding trumpeter, composer, and one of the most important figures in the contemporary klezmer revival. The Grammy Award-winning co-founder of The Klezmatics has consistently transcended genre boundaries for over forty years, fusing Jewish music with jazz, world music, and experimental music. He has collaborated with artists such as Itzhak Perlman, John Zorn, and David Byrne, and has been honored by the Hungarian government for his artistic work and fostering intercultural dialogue.
