DakhaBrakha, one of the most recognizable Ukrainian bands in the world will perform at the Centre for Culture’s Courtyard to mark Ukraine’s Independence Day.
The quartet, founded in 2004 in Kyiv at the initiative of director Vlad Troitsky at the DAKH Center for Contemporary Art, combines traditional folk music with elements of world music, theatre, and contemporary music, creating an original style described as “ethno-chaos.”
The group has performed at leading festivals and stages worldwide, becoming one of the most important ambassadors of contemporary Ukrainian culture. They will share their unique sound where polyphonic singing intertwines with the sounds of traditional music instruments from different traditions.
The event is an expression of solidarity with the Ukrainian nation and a symbolic highlight of Lublin’s long-standing cooperation with Ukraine.
