We invite you on a journey back in time to 1997, when this festival history first began, rooted in entirely different socio-cultural realities. Across the years, it has accompanied us in experiencing successive dance phenomena and sensitised us to the wisdom and insight of dance artists.
With pride and longing, we remember, among others, two prominent absent figures: Andrzej Molik and Andrzej Z. Kowalczyk. Two exceptional Lublin critics, captivated by our festival from its very first edition, were its dependable participants, observers, admirers, and friends. We could always count on their in-depth, analytical reviews, to which we return today and present to you at this jubilee exhibition, remaining deeply impressed by their professionalism and openness in articulating contemporary dance—a phenomenon that was thoroughly avant-garde in those years.
We also present a special edition of the Lublin Cultural Guide ZOOM (Lubelski Informator Kulturalny ZOOM). Inside, you will find reprints of archival materials that regularly accompanied previous editions of MSTT from the earliest issues in 2004 (the 8th edition of the festival). Alongside the reprints of reviews by A. Molik and A.Z. Kowalczyk, this is a real treat for enthusiasts of reviews written without haste and with genuine passion for art.

The exhibitions represent merely a fraction of the festival archives. Ahead of us lie years of painstaking work to organize, preserve, and make them available in new formats, ensuring that no vital detail from the rich history of the International Dance Theatres Festival in Lublin is ever lost.
