29. International Dance Theatres Festival

The world of contemporary dance will meet in Lublin for the 29th time. This year, the International Dance Theatre Meetings will take place from November 6-11 and will bring together artists from Scotland, Germany, France, Spain, and Georgia, among other countries.

For years, the festival has impressed with its scale, continuity, and openness to the changing world. In the years 2024–2026, the organizers are focusing on a new interpretation of three concepts: international, meeting, and dance theatre, in order to summarize three decades of reflection on the role of dance in culture in the jubilee year of 2026. Each edition of the International Dance Theatre Meetings presents the full spectrum of contemporary trends – from intimate solo projects to spectacular large-scale productions featuring the world’s leading dance companies.

In 2025, the festival takes on a unique Scottish flavour. The main guest will be the Scottish Dance Theatre which will perform in Poland for the first time as part of the UK/Poland Season 2025 celebrations. The flagship company from Scotland will ignite the Lublin stage with two performances: “The Flock” – an acrobatic journey inspired by bird migration – and “Moving Cloud,” in which contemporary dance meets traditional Celtic music in a powerful, joyful fusion.

PROGRAMME: 

The program will also include performances by Mele Broomes, Dorine Mugisha, Mark Bleakley, and Solene Weinachter, and the presence of Scottish artists is the result of collaboration with The Work Room, Creative Scotland, and the British Council. This is a unique opportunity to see the latest face of contemporary Scottish dance.

The Aerowaves network remains a constant partner of the festival, presenting the most interesting European choreographic discoveries – this year including La Chachi from Spain and Production Xxx from France.

The voice of the younger generation of choreographers will resonate within the “Young Generation” module, showcasing young Polish artists in dialogue with established masters, and a strong representation of artists from Eastern Europe – especially from Ukraine and Georgia – whose art becomes a voice of protest against violence and war.

The festival will be accompanied by workshops, meetings with artists, and master classes, which this year will be led by Joan Clevillé, artistic director of the Scottish Dance Theatre.

NOTE: when purchasing a minimum of 2 tickets for any performance of the 29th MSTT, each subsequent ticket is priced at 30 PLN! This does not apply to the Scottish Dance Theatre performance at the CSK.
