Benshi is a film meeting of cinema fans with a controversial flair. If you love cinema – join us. Look for inspiration. Inspire.
About the cycle:
On May 31, Clint Eastwood will celebrate his 93rd birthday. He has been active as an actor since the mid-1950s, but the world got to know him a decade later, as the Nameless One from Sergio Leone’s famous “Dollar Trilogy”. Another of his high-profile incarnations is Inspector Callahan, a tough cop called Dirty Harry, whom the hero of our series impersonated five times. Eastwood is not only an action movie star, he also has a softer side, especially in the films he directs. Two of them (“What Happens in Madison County”
and “Million Dollar Baby”) have already been shown at Benshi on other occasions. This time we will show the last western in history, which received an Oscar in the best picture category, i.e. “Unforgiven” and “Mystic River”, an adaptation of Dennis Lehane’s novel with a star and Oscar-winning cast. Many happy returns, Mr Eastwood!
Project co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.
