Screening of 14 animated films, selected by Piotr Kardas out of 61 films submitted by 9 branches of ASIFA – the International Association of Animated Film Creators.
The Animation iscelebrated for several days around the symbolic date of October 28th. On that day, in 1892, at the Grévin Museum in Paris, took place the first public screening of the animation of Émile Reynaud’s Théâtre Optique.
Our celebrations have moved to December, but we still invite you to watch the presentaion of these unique, short animations.
A Girl Who’s Afraid Of Touching People (Taiwan, UK 2019, 04:51), Liang-Hsin Huang
Can you see the girl or not. At least you know she’s afraid to touch people. Now she goes on a journey to overcome fear from the past to the present, from pain to relief. Running in the snow, hiding in the apartment and going to the seaside.

There are 11,926 pharmaceutical drugs available worldwide. This video shows 2,863 of them. Pills and capsules form a cacophony of shapes, colours and sizes, which results in a satirical commentary on our culture.
EndFGM (Cyprus 2021, 02:15), Alexia Roider
Mutilation, the removal or damage of the external female genitalia for non-medical reasons, is most commonly used in girls and young women under the age of 18. Two hundred million girls and women alive today were mutilated in this way. FGM is not recommended by any religion and has no health benefits. On the contrary, the practice can cause a lifelong physical and mental trauma. The film features real interviews with survivors and activists who struggle to end this inhuman practice.
