During the second edition of the Polish Dance Network this year, we will see the performance by the Bytom Dance and Movement Theatre ROZBARK.
Is man able to refrain from using what he can produce?
The American Project Manhattan aimed at constructing the first atomic weapon. It was a paradox bomb: it was to bring great destruction and at the same time end the war. Dropping the Little Boy bomb on Hiroshima was a frightening example of human activity demonstrating that reconciliation is a way of increasing violence.
Can the war be ended in a different way than the escalation of aggression? Apocalyptic thinking ceases to be madness and becomes everyday life. We can destroy or love each other.
The performance is presented as part of the Polish Dance Network in cooperation with the Institute of Music and Dance
concept, choreography, performance: Daniela Komędera-Miśkiewicz, Dominika Wiak; music composed and performed by: Aleksander Wnuk, Michał Lazar (W/L DUO); video: Natan Berkowicz; lights: Paweł Murlik; photos Dominik Więcek; poster, leaflets: Aleksander Joachimiak; special guest Adam Tyson Cisowski, production: Bytomski Teatr Tańca i Ruchu ROZBARK
Polish Dance Network is the first formalised co-operation between institutions and organisations that support the development of contemporary dance in Poland. Each season, the Polish Dance Network Partners choose the most interesting works of Polish independent artists and institutional dance companies, which form a joint repertoire toured within the network over the next year.
The network supports mobility of selected productions, promotes artists and encourages the implementation of good practices in the professional dance environment. It contributes significantly to the creation of conditions and structures supporting the circulation of contemporary dance art in Poland and works towards integrating the dance scene through the exchange of different dance aesthetics.
