6th Sound of Words Festival: Milo Ensemble is a sextet made of six musician that originate from three continents. Their music is a fusion between the eastern region of the Meiditerranean Sea, Tibet and jazz avant-garde played on the traditional acoustic instruments like the oud, saz, kora, santoor, trembita, drums and mbira.
MILO ENSEMBLE was established by its originator and creator, tireless seeker of new sounds – Milo Kurtis, a multi-instrumentalist, Greek by birth. Poland has become his place of stay just like America, where he had lived for several years. Milo is also the cocreator of popular band Maanam, a member of groups such as Osjan, 12RAEL, Voo Voo and many more Polish cult music projects. During his musical journey he worked with numerous artist from the country and abroad, including the names like Tomasz Stańko, the legend Don Cherry, the cofunder of the American FREE JAZZ.
