Off artists are often ruthless towards fathers in films. It is significant that some of the films selected will show fathers only outside the frame. This does not mean, however, that short films are devoid of empathy towards men. They rather take a critical approach to look at the reasons why the relations between fathers and their children do not always go well for both sides.

Goodtime, dir. Dongin Kang (Republic of Korea) 2020, 23’, 15+
Hyung-do is a delivery man who spends major part of his income on a treatment of his heavily sick father. However, Hyung-do is not willing to pay him a visit in the hospital. Polish premiere.

An elderly father lives with his only child in a remote place. He struggles to accept the fact that his child is a bit different from others. The arrival of a white goose leads to a series of unexpected events. European premiere.

Our Own Land, dir. Simon Helloco (France) 2021, 23’, 18+
The summer ends in the french countryside. As the adults are out, two brothers (8 and 12 years old) have unlimited freedom. They only forbid themselves to enter the first floor of the house. Polish premiere.

Hush, dir. Emilie Beck (Norway) 2022, 25’, 15+
In public 12-year-old Martin seems to be a normal cheerful boy, but at home he faces uncertainty, and at times a harsh reality. With an alcoholic father, and a mother who barely manages to handle the situation, Martin is forced to do what it takes to keep the family together. Polish premiere.
