Kamishibai is a traditional, centuries-old Japanese art. In Japanese ‘kami’ is paper, ‘shibai’ – art. The central element is a wooden ‘butai’ box, in the form of a fold-out theatre. Colourful illustrations, arranged in a storyline, form a coherent story. Sztuczka Gallery will present works by Agnieszka Rzążewska, inspired by the text “Seed”. Viewers who will enjoy the exhibition will be able to purchase their own Kamishibai theatre for small home presentations.
