Music of the Third Ear returns with another edition of its series dedicated to contemporary improvised music. Developed over more than a decade, the project consistently creates a space for encounters between artists representing diverse backgrounds and aesthetics, emphasizing spontaneity, dialogue, and the crossing of genre boundaries.
The fifteenth edition will present two premiere sets prepared for the occasion. Musicians from Turkey, Argentina, and Poland—active participants in the international improvised music scene, with dozens of recordings and collaborations with leading artists from Europe and beyond—will meet on stage.
The evening’s program features a duo by Oğuz Büyükberber and Sebastian Madejski, exploring relationships between voice, electronics, and the sound of wind instruments, as well as a guitar trio by Guillermo Celano, Michał Dymny, and Grzegorz Lesiak, where three distinct languages of improvisation and composition will converge.
SET 1
Oğuz Büyükberber (TR) – clarinet, bass clarinet, electronics
Sebastian Madejski (PL) – voice, electronics
Oğuz Büyükberber – sound that transcends perception
One of the most original voices in contemporary improvised music—a multi-award-winning bass clarinetist, composer, and multidisciplinary artist with over 60 albums to his name. His work moves between acoustic instruments and electronics, composition and spontaneous improvisation, forming a deeply expressive sonic language.
Sebastian Madejski – the voice as an infinite instrument
Presents his original project Fragmentary Chants—a hypnotic solo performance created entirely with the human voice. Recording, looping, and layering vocals live, he constructs complex, improvised sonic structures.
SET 2
Guillermo Celano (AR) – guitar
Michał Dymny (PL) – guitar
Grzegorz Lesiak (PL) – guitar
Guillermo Celano – a guitarist beyond the boundaries of fiction and reality
Originally from Argentina and based in Amsterdam, Guillermo Celano creates music that escapes simple definitions. Jazz, classical music, pop, improvisation, and rock intertwine in his work, forming a distinctive, vibrant blend of sounds. Continuously redefining his artistic voice, he expands the boundaries of contemporary improvised music.
Michał Dymny – intuition, energy, limitless improvisation
One of the most distinctive voices of the Polish improvised music scene—a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and vocalist based in Kraków. His primary instruments are electric guitar and keyboards, though his unique language is most evident on guitar, where he employs extended techniques and sound exploration beyond traditional frameworks.
Grzegorz Lesiak – between silence and sonic explosion
One of the most active and versatile figures in Poland’s improvised and experimental music scene. A guitarist, composer, producer, and curator, he has spent over two decades developing a distinctive artistic language that combines progressive rock, free jazz, folk, and avant-garde elements.
