Nina (Barbara Sukowa) and Madeleine (Martine Chevallier) are retired. For the last few decades, they have hidden their love and even their loved ones are convinced that they are only neighbours to each other. Nina, however, believes that no one will pay attention to them these days. He urges Madeleine to go to Rome and finally live together.
