Mariusz Kruk deals with painting, drawing, creates objects and installations. He is also the author of short poetic forms.
At the exhibition, he will present mainly assemblages, for the creation of which he uses fabrics, cardboard, wooden slats, scraps of paper, foil, strings, metal, plastic, aluminium, musical instruments and other ready-made objects. At first glance, his works refer to the works of constructivists. They open up a wide spectrum of associations and interpretations. They discover relations between meanings, the relationship between nature and culture in relation to human existence, also in the context of artistic creativity. And all this is deepened by the observation of the world, seen as a multifaceted existence. For an artist, getting to know the world takes place in the process of creating and artistic creation, also through visual mental shortcuts.

Mariusz Kruk was born in 1952. He graduated from the State College of Fine Arts in Poznań. In 1983, he founded the Koło Klipsa artistic group with which he was associated until 1987. Over the years, his work has evolved – from poetic and expanded works to ones more economical in the form. The artist is associated with Poznań, where he lectures at the University of Arts.
