The exhibition is part of the project “On the verge of destruction”, whose basic mental and visual content is questions. The exhibition is open to interaction, any person can intervene in it and leave their mark.
We hurt people every day, intentionally or not, with our words, our actions and our beliefs. We cannot escape it or treat it to full extend. If we believe we don’t mean harm, it doesn’t become harmless. If we don’t question our actions, they don’t become un-questionable. If we made one good thing, the score isn’t on our side, the life isn’t finished. We can’t just close our eyes and think it’s gone.
Going through the world we often accept thoughts, ideas and views of our environment without questioning them, unless the topic touches us personally. It even happens sometimes that two contrary ideas can live in our heads and we don’t see them as contradicting anymore out of habit of hearing them all the time. The exhibition’s goal is to highlight the pain caused every day by every person, to accept the imperfection of the world and start the conversation on how to live in such controversial, dissimilar and harsh world heading toward a ‘better future’. And the most important question, why do we even need to care about others?
About artist:
Nowadays I’m preparing diploma at UMCS university in Graphic Design specialization. My whole life I was interested in socio-political questions in different fields, but I’ve never used my artistic skills to talk about them. Moving to Poland and studying here for more than a year, I met people who made me feel more free to share my views and encouraged me to apply my art knowledge to that. This exhibition is my step forward to inner freedom from the barriers of the past.
